We had a great take up on the flash Forward 5 Valentines with with 37 applications.
We were able to fund 31 grants worth £21,151.00 withgthe smallest being £101.00 and the largest £1,00.00
One application from East Goscote Scout Group wanted funding to to buy 5 chromebooks to facilitate badgework and expedition planning.
This will enable all sections to improve their digital skills and work towards their Digital Citizen & Digital Maker staged badges.
They will also be used to access digital mapping software when planning expeditions for both Chief Scout & Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Lots of badges now have the option of using a computer to complete part of the badge, e.g. Cubs Artist badge allows them to use a computer to make a greeting card or a poster, or Scouts accessing audio & visual software to complete the Scouts Media Relations & Marketing badge.
Currently the group relies on our volunteers bringing their personal computer equipment, which is not ideal, especially if that equipment is actually their work computer!
Forward 5 Valentines was able to fund the Group £900.00n and the new chrome books are already in use…
