After three years in the role, Bijal Bhagwan has stepped down as County Lead Volunteer for Leicestershire.

Bijal has led the County through a pivotal time of transformation, reshaping the County Leadership Team and working through the Skills for Life strategy. Under Bijal’s leadership, Leicestershire has continued to see growth, increased the number of top awards and continued to deliver a strong programme of activities. She has contributed to the development of Scouts across the County and within the East Midlands region.

As Bijal moves on, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and talented person who can lead and support Scouts in Leicestershire. It’s an exciting time to be involved as we embed our improvements to volunteer experience and shape our new strategy.

This is your opportunity to nominate someone you think has the skills and qualities to lead the County forward, or apply for the role yourself if this sounds like you!

The closing date is 9am on Monday 12 October. Please make sure to submit all nominations and applications by this point.

The County Lead Volunteer is a key volunteer leadership role within the Scouts. You’ll help us lead and inspire adult volunteers, providing outstanding management and support for the ten Districts in Leicestershire.

We know that Scouts has the ability to change lives, so you’ll also help us with our ambitious inclusive growth plans, ensuring that Scouts is able to reach every young person.

You’ll be joining a team of talented, focused volunteers who are all passionate about bringing brilliant Scouting to every young person who wants to take part, and enjoy having fun in the process.

We want to create the best possible team to lead Scouts in Leicestershire, and believe that we’ll do that by inviting and involving volunteers from different walks of life with different experiences, different skills and perspectives.

If you’d like an informal conversation before applying, please reach out to me via email.

In the meantime, thank you for all that you do in the Scouts.

Paula Evans

Regional Lead Volunteer of the East Midlands
