I am delighted to announce that Simone Everitt will be appointed as Lead Volunteer for North East District, starting on 28th September 2024.
Simone started as a Brownie at 74th Leicester from the age of about 7 and left Guiding at 14.
When Simone’s son was 8 he was in Cubs at Houghton and she was asked to get involved as a Helper.
She quickly became a Cub Leader and a key member of the team at Houghton Scout Group taking on more and more responsibility including implementing OSM across all Sections. Simone became joint GSL with Scott Mclaren in 2020 where she developed and implemented the Group’s strategy.
Outside of Scouting, Simone runs a successful business in Great Glen and is mother to two teenage boys. She has a strong background in training. She will draw on her varied management and business experience, along with her Scouting career.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bethan Dodge, Lauren Pickering and Simone for all their support while I have been juggling the DC and CC roles.
I wish Simone and her team all the best in taking North East District forward.
