LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY SCOUT CLIMBING
12th – 14th MAY 2023
This weekend is a chance for all scouts of all abilities to learn basic rock-climbing techniques and complete the climber proficiency badge. The scouts do not need any prior climbing experience to come on the weekend.

The event is organised by the Leicestershire County Scout Climbing Team. This year we will be staying at Eden Tree Caravan Park (Public Site). The entrance to the site is on – Eccles Lane, Bradwell, Hope Valley, S33 9JT. It’s a great location for the climbing at Stanage Edge and has a local village recreational area a short walk from the campsite, suitable for groups to use for games, as the site does not have space. I have already booked pitches to cover all groups attending, so if you have any questions about the camping please contact me, and I will contact the site owner as required. (At the site owners request, please do not contact them directly).
All the climbing will be supervised by authorised scouting instructors, and all climbing equipment provided. It is first come first served basis; we can take up to 40 scouts. Scout groups need to provide their own transport, camping equipment and food for the whole weekend. The cost of the weekend for scouts is £36.50 each, which covers use of the equipment, full tuition and includes the camping fees. Camping fees for supporting leaders are £12 for two nights and a cost of £3.00 (each night) payable for each vehicle that comes on the campsite.
Leaders are welcome to join in with the climbing and enjoy the beautiful Peak National Park. It’s a lovely spot!
To book places on this weekend, a payment of £36.50 per scout will be required. (Leaders/adults and vehicles can be paid on the weekend with cash, cheque, or bank transfer) We will be climbing at Stanage Edge area which is a 15min drive, and each group will need to provide transport for the scouts to get there.
A member from the climbing team can come if required and see your group before the weekend, and I look forward to seeing you on the weekend.
